Default Scrambler owners...H.P. on budget

Whats Up Guys?..I own an 04 scrambler and mostly do trail riding but to get there we need to make the mad dash on main roads.most of the guys i ride with have raptors, yzf 450's,and kfx700's and when we are on the road i am way behind but on the trails i am the only one not getting stuck(hills, mud, etc.)

Anyway I need my POLARIS brothers' HELP...I am looking to spend @ $500 on upgrades more or less so I am open to suggestions.

THANX

HPD or Hot Seat clutch kit & a White Bros. or Aaen pipe & re-jet will help, but as a fellow Scrambler owner, these are not high end speed machines. The clutch kit will make it accelerate faster, & the pipe will add a couple ponies, but the top speed will be the same. Don't think of re-gearing, the 4 wheel drive has to be a specific ratio to function correctly.

If you're mechanicly inclined & have an afternoon to install the parts yourself, $500 will more than buy a clutch kit, pipe & carb jets.

i recently installed the camshaft from WEB CAMS and it was a huge improvement in performance. back that up with a good pipe, clutching, and carb mods, and that 500 scrammy will scream down the trails!!!

i may be mistaken but i believe the comet clutch will give you more top speed as well as performance, but costs 3-400 bucks

Now thats the help i wanted....Much appreciated!!!!!!from the feedback I think i should start with a new pipe and clutchig and camsounds sweet too.

I have a question for scramblerxrated...I checked out your pix seems your scrammy is quite hooked.Whats the deal with the double snorkel air box?Does it boost performance??and do you need a high compression piston like it recommends on the website???

i opted to go with the extra snorkle to improve airflow, for the HPD carb mod, since i didnt want to go with the HPD airbox lid mod. it works great and still allows protection from mud/water.

as far as the high comp piston, its a recommendation for optimum performance from the cam. but its not necessary. im using it with my stock piston and it really woke it up. i really didnt feel like tearing down the whole motor at this time......
