Kick Starter Jammed...

Kick Starter Jammed...
I replaced the kick starter gear and now the kick starter is jammed... once I loosen the bolts to the cover that houses the gears, it recoils and works fine. Everything is cool up until I start tightening the bolts to the cover.?? Any advice/help is appreciated, thanks!
