once question..how the heck do you ride in these things?

I got a pair of MSR boots as an early christmas present.

well i decided hey i will try them out. I have a hard time finding my shifter, and when i do find it i miss a gear. And i can't find my brake pedal its just like, i can't move move foot over to grab it.

I rode with them for about 30 minutes. it was getting no better..mainly because i was getting insanely pissed off.

How long does it take to get used to them? anyway i can soften them?

I have alpinestar tech 7's.I had to raise the shifter on my 250r up a couple nothes and it took about 2 weeks to get used to them.I can't ride with them on with my blaster though.I miss gears enough with that thing don't need to make it worse.

I have Fox Forma boots and I do not tighten the buckles up top so i can wigle my foot all around , thus it makes it easier to shift.

Yes it is hard to used to riding boots, but you will just give it time. They are the best protection I know guys who BROKEN there ankles & severely hurt there feet without them.
you can apply mik oil to help soften them up a little during break in period.

I wear "tall" AXO boots. When I first put them on, I could hardly walk in them. I saddle soaped them really good. Kept walking around in them between rides and on breaks. Adjusted my shift lever. It just takes time to break them in. Don't give up. Keep wearing them.

Most boots are made for MX bikes, where you are at more of a standing position. I made the mistake of buying Thor MX boots. I could hardly walk in them, plus, they were really hard on the feet. A couple companies have made boots just for ATVing. I bought a pair of Geirne boots last summer. What a difference. They are as comfortable as a pair of high quality Rockies. You can leave them on all day. You actually forget you have them on when you get back to camp.

Just raise the shift lever up one noch. I did this with my Alpinestars M4(atv) and they work great!

I used to use saddle soap on my Answer boots, but one day I decided to just soak them with Armor All. They are softer and more comfortable since. I soak them everytime after washing the mud off. Works for me.
