Going 4-Stroke
#1
I hope everyone is doing well.
I currently have a 2002 banshee that is modded with pipes reeds, and airbox, along with front shocks with rezzies. I am going to get rif of that atv and get a 4 stroke that hopefully is a bit easier to maintain.
My riding varies widely from dunes to open area and trail riding. I want somthing a bit easier to ride on trials, but don't want to loose the power.
I am looking at the yfz450 and the Raptor 700r with the EFI. The mags tend to say that the raptor is a very well round machine that is drastically improved over the older 660. I also here good things about the 450
Any ideas or seggestions would help, I am 5'10 240.

Powerwise stock the 700 and 450 are close. The 450 is most similar to the Banshee power delivery, but the 700 has all day comfort and a lot more torque on hand. The 450 is going to ba a scalpel, while the 700 is like a good carving knife-still quite capable but a bit more cumbersome and not quite as sharp.

What about after both quads are piped? Put it this way i am looking for the faster all around quad , the one thing i won't ever do is race mx tracks.
Would a race be pretty even? Also the cost are pretty close on these 2 units, is there any advantage to getting one of the special edition or gytr models?

I have heard that the 700 can get close to 50hp at the crank with a full exhaust, controller, and air box mods. For the most part they will still be pretty close in a drag $ for $. Unless you live and die at the drags or something. I saw a Ballance edition YFZ the other day, I think it is worth the money for the nerfs and what not as long as you don't mind what it comes with. I think the Raptors may get upgraded shocks which are likely worth it. Yammie always has new SE's every year, so the specs may change from model to model. Worth ultimately is going to be on you.
