Default 2001 Acat 400 fuel feeding...

Hello "helpfull" gang...
I had my 2001 ACAT 400 4x4 carb cleaned
and now I am having some fuel feeding problem...
Here is a description of the problem:

If I put the fuel switch to "on" position,
It seem that the engine is not getting enough fuel
and is getting a lack of power whenever I push on the gas throttle.
I also notice that if I push on the primer button, The fuel
is not getting to the carb.

If I put the fuel switch to "reserve" position,
The engine is getting OK. And at start, the primer button
is getting juice to the carb and fire very easily.

If I wait a couple minute, and switch back to "on" position,
it's getting again a lack of power and want to stop.

May I always run on "reserve" position?
What is the difference between "on" & "reserve" position?

Should I drain gas in the tank?

What about having to clean the "float bowl"?

I am not a mechanic, but I'm getting use to like
fooling around with engine since I owned this ACAT 400...

THANK YOU!

Sounds like the selector switch got some gunk in it. You could try to take it off and clean it. Probably would not be a bad idea to take the tank and everything off and flush it out good. When you put it back on then put some carb/injector cleaner in with your gas. I think a good cleaning from the carb back to and including the gas tank may help out.

Here is what I do on a regular basis - I have a 6 gal gas can and I mix the recommended amount of Marvel Mystery Oil per gal. I do 1/2 the recommended amount of dry gas, and 1/2 the recommended amount of carb/injector cleaner and 1 cap of 'stabil' for every gal. I always fill my tank from home with the gas from the 6 gal can. If I stop on a trip for a top off from a gas station I don't worry about it. I use that same gas can for my lawnmower, snow blower, an my little outboard etc... My snowblower I bough new in 1981 and has never had the carb off for cleaning or anything... I have never had any carb off for cleaning for that matter, if my memory is not failing me too bad. During sitting months then I just add a couple caps of 'stabil' to the snowblower, lawnmower or which ever one is going to be sitting for a period of time, or I will try to run it dry and out of gas before storing. Works for me... has for years, I do a similar thing with my auto's. The biggest thing is the Marvel Mystery Oil. If it burns gas then it gets a dose of Mystery Oil.....
