changing wheel bearings
#2
I did not do any on the Sportsman line-up yet!!!!
But I did do others like 250 A/C 2x4
And one Yamaha.....Both other peoples and they were easy to do with basic tools!!
Do you do any repair work at all on your quads???
The worst part is trying to get the old ones pushed out!!!
Just remember though....When putting the new ones in DON"T HAMMER around the inside of the Bearing!!
I little trick is to find a socket the same size as the center of the bearing and tap it on from there!!!
You can damage the new bearing if you pound on it from the outside edge!!!!
............Caper...............

I too replaced one on the front left. The bearing is pressed into the housing. you will need a press to get it out. Do not try to hammer on it, you will make things worse, by messing up the "VERY LITTTLE" area that there is. It will be tempting, but do not hammer on the little notices that you will see!

Very simple to replace..remove hub ..remove c clip that holds bearing in...heat hub up with torch..the bearing will come right out..Put new bearing in freezer for a couple hours ..the new bearing will fall right in...Just did one on a 2002 Sportsman 700 and took about 20 minutes..(not counting the freezer time)..Hope this helps...
