07 SP 500 EFI Melting Plastic
#1
Hello Everyone,
I've been reading these forums since I got my quad back in November of 06. Figured I would just ask if anyone else has had a problem with their 07 SP 500 EFI and melting plastic on the right side. I know that there were issues on the 05 and 06 models but was told by the dealer that this was resolved for the 07's. Apparently not because I was doing maintenance yesterday and noticed that there was a good 5 inch section of the main body panel that was totally melted and it took part of the side panel with it. Funny thing is that that must have happened on the last ride because I just had it apart two weeks ago for a good cleaning.
Anyways, just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or knows of someone who has. The dealer told me that I am the first one he has heard of with a problem on the 07. Also, I am going up there tomorrow so they can take pics and get the warranty process started, anything I need to work with them on / talk to them about so this doesn't happen after they replace the plastic and i'm out of warranty? Don't exactly want this happening again.
Thanks!
