I have a Honda 1985 trx 125m. I don't know how to shift it from low to high range.. On the handle bar left hand brake lever if you push down the pin and pull in the lever then push down on the gear shifter the four wheeler will go into reverse.. Now to my understanding is that it has a low and high range sub-transmission that also has the reverse in it.. I can get it to go into reverse by doing those steps above and I see the cable moving the actuator arm on this sub-trans but I'm just not sure how to go from the low to high range.. If you could help me I'd be greatful......

 

not sure with that model. but i had an 84 ATC 125 and the lever for low to high was kinda under the engine kinda behind the shifter rod. there was like a small lever under there that you could move fwd was hi and back was low. might look into it.

My 1976 ATC110 had a small lever sort of near the shift indicator on the right side of the motor.
Perhaps a good repair manual would help here.

 

My trx125 didn't have an actual shift lever for hi and low. It just had a very low geared 1st gear for pulling trailors and such. No suspension at all!

 

yup, honda used the ATC125 engine and tranny, but repalced the hi-low range with the reverse gear for the 4 wheel model. I owned one once, notchy shifting for sure but nice maching that was repaced in 86 or 87 with a totally differnt engine.
