Jetmoto 150 questions
#1
I have read all the threads on the new Jetmoto 150 but still have a couple of questions.
I have 2 children, 5 and 13, and can afford one ATV. I want something that the 13 year old can enjoy riding but also want something that I can put my 5 year old on in a year or so. Also when buying something like this I like to look to the future, so have some upgrade questions.
I have test rode the Jetmoto 250 and 110 at a local dealer. The 250 is a manual so it is out. I was able to put the 110 in first gear and govern it to about 7MPH so it was looking like the answer. Then I read about the 150 sharing the same frame as the 250 and would like to go that route as it appears to be built much better than the 110 frame.
So my questions are.....
1.) How slow can the 150 be governed ( ie. 7-10 MPH)?
2.) Is the steering effort about the same on the 150 as it is on the 250?
3.) Does the 150 have an armband safety kill?
4.) Looking to the future what performance gains can be had by changing exhaust/intake and rejetting?
5.) Is there any way to rig up a hitch to pull a lightweight trailer behind the 150?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

1)I dont think so stock, probubly closer to 10-15 mph. I have always figured you could put a longer screw in the throtle limit location. This should allow more restriction than stock. Maybe the dealer would let you try it.
2) It might be less with the smaller tires.
3) I dont think so.
4) There is a lot you can do to improve preformance. That engine is used in a lot of different machines. About a year ago here there was a very popular thread about a 150 2 seater buggy. A couple of guys went nuts making their 150 buggies run stronger.
5) You might be able to make something to attatch to either the axle pinch bolts. Or possibly the disc/sprocket skid plate.

My 8 year old rides our 150 and he is a good sized 8 but I don't think under 8 should be on this big of a quad. 90-125 would be much safer! It's not the same frame as the 250 but close in size and bigger then other 150's!

Thanks for all the info.
We had to take the nut off the throttle screw on the 110 to get it to go as slow as possible.
It possible I may have to look for something else for my 5 year old. Just wanted an ATV that was "future proof" for the boy.
Thanks again.
