why ktm instead of husqvarna?

it turns out that husqvarna also makes a 510cc engine-except it has more power supposedly with the DOHC and 12.9:1 compression ratio...... i wonder if it would be too heavy just like the fuji though?

but the ktm 525 motocross bike (not the enduro one) i think its the SXF- that one weighs only 220 lbs or something (a bit more than most 450s) and the husqy weighed only 234- thats not too bad (still lighter than a crf or ttr230)

Not sure if your talking Bikes here or not.
I have had both, both are good.
KTM advantage. much better resale value. Dealers are more astablished.
KTM disavantges. Cost more. The PSD shock system (no lever on shock to swing arm) can be a PITA to get perfect.
Husky Advantages. Most 2006 and newer Huskys are street legal! (barely, they did not loose anything dirt bike wise to get street legal). Cost less. I found parts cost less then KTM. I never had problems getting parts. If your riding in AMA events, Husky has a great pay back program. I know some 60+ year old guys that end up riding for free with the payback bucks.
Husky Disavantages. Low resale value. People confuse them with Huskys of the 90's when they went out of business the last time. Its a different company now.
I have had the following
KTM: (in order) 96 EXC/300, 98 EXC/300 (first PSD shock system) 2000 EXC/620
Husky: 2000 (left over, bought in 2003) TE-610, 2005 TE-250.

i was talking about the bikes for differences in weight- but if you used the engine off a husqy- it would still be lighter than the fuji 500 in the pred by at least 10lbs i would think
