Revised report on my quiet DS pipe made by (The Stir)
#1
I have been using a quiet pipe made by The Stir (Scott) and while i was getting good results i thought that maybe there was more to be had with this pipe and i was right.I initially reported that my quiet pipe worked well but not quite as good as my disced end cap but i found out today that it is actually better from mid to top end when jetting is correct.I am using this pipe on my 14:1 DS with a Lectron 46 carb and HR3 cams and the pull of my motor with this pipe is awesome.I ran my DS on the flats at the dunes today against my friends 690 raptor and another friends KX 250 and i left them easily.I just thought i would share that it is possible to have a truly quiet pipe (93.6DB)that gives great performance.Great job Scott and if you have another version of this pipe i would be very interested in trying it out. Thanks again.

Nice report. I guess there is still hope.
What kind of tuning changes did you make to get better results? I would also like to see some pics and details on how this pipe was made

Thats great news Mike,
I have one now thats more heavily modded I can send it up to you to try out. The down side is it a little louder, probably around 96 DB. Its still rough, I have not blasted and painted it yet. My DS is down right now as I'm in the middle of my stock bore build, on a smaller scale than yours, and you are welcome to try it out if you want, but I need it back.
I do not think we are going to get any better performance at the 93 DB level. Its just amazing to me that its working that well and is as quiet as stock.

Scott- i will probably just stick with what is working since it is so quiet.I must admit that i had no idea that a pipe this quiet could perform like this and not only is it quiet it is actually quieter than the stock pipe.DSengineer-I was jetted too fat for this pipe at first and i was getting some serious bogging but now my DS really jumps out of the hole.I had DSNUT adjust my metering rod for me out at the hill to lean my fuel out a bit and i found that a 75 power jet is just right for my motor. Before DSNUT gave me a quick lesson on the Lectron i had no idea what the correct way to adjust it was but now that i understand it it is actually a simple process.I also use a Vortex CDI that has custom programs and i finally found one that really stands out as the best and that helped as well.I was not happy with the Vortex at first but after experimenting with the settings and the effect they can have i see why they are sought after because they really work.
