In stock form I beat a stock Banshee on pavement where traction is equal. It was by about five feet. Equal driving ability also.

i raced a 00' banshee 6 times down about a 280yd straigh away on blacktop about 4 months ago. He had, dg silencers, Stage 3 filter kit (or somethting like that). Out of the 6 races my STOCK ds won everytime. Once i hit nutral and he pulled me about the first 50 yards, then i pulled up on hh im and took off. The most i won by was about 6 bike lenths, the worst was about 3 lengths. We traded machiens and same result. Ds is faster stock. Modified is another story

00ds650 stock

The DS should tottally destroy the shee. I raced a moddified one with my DS and lost by about 5 bikes. Never raced a stock. I raced a stock with my Raptor and one really bad every time, even when we switched.

I used to have an 87 yamaha banshee and I drag raced a guy on a stock DS650. Let me tell you he burned me and my banshee was all decked out. The engine was borred out and I had the pipes on it. Mine was no match. We raced an flat level ground in the dirt. I lost by quite a few atv lengths.

stock vs stock a DS will win all day long in any conditions...... modified wow thats a tough one ...I feel the banshee is easier to build up and its cheap to build....but a built DS would be easier to ride fast

Between my two best friends and myself we have a 2000 yamaha raptor, 2000 banshee , and a 2000 DS650. The Raptor has a pipe, K&N filter, intake, and been rejetted. The Banshee has pipes, K&N filter, and been rejetted. The DS650 only has a K&N filter and been rejetted. We all runn the same sand tires in the back. In a 300 yard drag it doesn't matter who is ridding what it almost always ends the same. The DS and Banshee are very close with the DS pulling out a bike lenght or so and the raptor is usually about 3-4 bike lenghts behind that. If we start at the Bottom of a hill and blast up it the DS and Banshee are almost a dead heat with the raptor struggling to keep up. I like all three bikes but for how I ride and my size (6'3" 270#)you just can't beat the DS.
