Ok my battery dies when I run my ds with my lights on. I went for a ride and when I got back I noticed that my lights were getting dim and then my quad shut off by itself. Please tell me its the rectifier.

 

Sounds like you guessed right, mine did the same thing when my rectifier went out.

 

Ok I am going to get a rectifier, but just to make sure it is the rectifier. when my quad is off, I am getting 12.5 volts, when I start it it goes down a little and then stays around 12.4 volts. I know thats not right, so what should my volts be when the atv is running
