Default Honda 400ex or Raptor 350

k i am 14 about 6' and 195lbs and i am thinking about getting a new quad
i have ridin my freinds quads so im not that new to riding but i still am inexperienced since i have not owned a quad yet so i am looking for a nice quad thats pretty fast and easy to ride and maintain
i have been looking at both the 350 and 400ex for a long time now but i still want to know which one is easier to ride and maintain and which one is better performance wise but also keep in mind i am pretty big for my age and want a quad that can handle me and fit me good as well

The 350 has a reliable, but absolutely ancient engine from your father's generation. Performance...forget it.

My friend's wife bought a new 400EX yesterday. I took if or a long ride today, and what a superb machine, even when bone stock. These things run forever, with nothing but a little basic maintenance. Mine is 8 years old and beaten, and still going strong. The engine has pretty good hop up potential.

No question to it man. Go with the 400EX. My bro (6'6" 260lbs. ) has a 2002 that was just rebuilt and bored to 416. His friend just bought a '06 Raptor 350. The 400EX will blow the 350 out of the water. The 400 just feels better. In my Opinion the 350 seems sloppy and front heavy. As far as mods go as reconranger said the 400ex has many that will really wake it up. Mine is bored to 440, dynojetted with fmf powerbomb and white bros. exhaust. It will hang right behind the 450R up until 5th gear in a drag.

Ya well i think u got the point to get the 400. It is an absolute bulletproof machine and a great starter quad. I mean eight years now and it hasnt ben changed.. some ppl think that is bad but i feel that why change perfection.. honda has a racer and that is the 450 let ppl who dont want blazing speed... but has potential.... and also easier to drive all u got to do is change oil and other small maintence and they run forever...
