Default diagnostic computer for EFI

Just wondering if anybody has purchased the diagnostic computer hookup for there EFI outlander bikes.
If it could be bought by the public or is it just the certified can-am dealers to check codes and to find the problems.

I am sure you could get yourself a scanner for the OBD through a dealer if you wanted one or find one that has the connection and plug her in just like a car one would...That is if they are out to the public like car scanners are...I would go to the service dept and ask them.

I believe there are some diagnostics you can do yourself - think they're in the owner's manual, but haven't looked myself yet.

As far as canam letting anybody into their ecm, you would stand a better chance of getting into Area 51.

Yeah being that they're not classed like a "on-road" type motor vehicle they probably wouldn't be mandated by law like the regular motor vehicle manufacturers are to release their diagnostic tools. Also you would probably be pretty shocked at the prices at the cost of the actual tool if someone produced one and you would be further shocked by the price of the software. Some of that gear is pretty pricey.

Thanks for the replys
I guess they would be pricey dealing with the computer and all

My dad is going to buy a outlander efi can you find the codes in the diagnostics on the gauge like my polaris does, or were do you find it.

I try to do most of the work myself if I can help it because of the shop rate so high and most mechanics rush through everything so fast and dont do a good job like I try to do.

Taking the bike to the dealer for the codes with efi isnt that bad considering how fuel injection is so good and carburation is a thing of the past.
