94 sportsmens 400 motor locked up. help

well i got a project, i bought a 94 sportsmen 400 with a stuck motor. now i am mechanically inclined but i am not sure where to start. i am very unfamilar with 2 strokes. any starting advise would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I had a 352 wedge motor freeze up, I poured some air tool oil in the cylinders, let it set for awhile,pushed the truck down the hill popped the clutch and woolah, broke loose, didnt wreck the rings or anything, ran great after wards, you can try it whats it going to hurt, my . 03 cents

There are quite a few reasons for an engine to lock up. In my opinion, disassemble and make an educated guess. Less headaches in the long run. Doc

I live in Pine River if you are kinda close to here I can give you some help. It could be one of two things one piston has sized up an need a top end rebuild 2 could be the counter balance went bad witch is a bigger issue.
