Well, we sent two off to them for repair to Autometer They send both back still broken. The paper said Tach needle bounces and to send them back to Bombardier.

So everyone is sending them back to Autometer and they are saying EFFE off? That's a hell of a way to stand behind your product. Be interesting to see the actual numbers of people who have fairly new tachs that aren't working and see what Can Am would do about it since the manufacturer doesn't care. Guess they feel like our numbers aren't big enough to matter.
The American way, what can you say?

Not to cause a fuss, but a couple of years ago i had a problem with my tach, and when I called autometer they said to send it in and they would fix it. Well when I got it back it appeared that it was never touched, so I tried it and guess what, no worky. I called them to see what was goin on and I found out that autometer cannot repair the tachs because of infringements with bombardier. So if you got autometer to fix a tach then I wanna know, because from what I know they will not and they will tell you to contact the a bomb dealer. Since I fixed my tach myself I found that there is a voltage resister in there that will blow to keep from ruining the tach. Its a cheap part and somewhat easy to replace if you have a multi meter and a soldering iron. So in the future if there is a problem with your tach its probably gonna be that resistor and autometer will not fix it, might consider talking to a manager if calling autometer about this because some of the workers dont know that there not allowed to work on them. Trust me, I found out the hard way and was out my shipping cost to them, even after being told on the phone that they would fix it, they wont. Hope I didnt step on any toes but I mentioned this a couple years ago. Good luck, RUSS
