Default "Cracking Fenders?"

Hey guy's and gals, had a quick question to ask. I own 2, 2006 700 Sportsman's and have about 250 hrs, equal time on both machine's. My question is, have any of your rear fenders cracked right where they attach by the airfilter? Both bike's have the same crack on all four points right by the airfilter. I'm sure that this is not a huge deal, but would like to know if other's have this problem.

Ohh my gosh, yea I have that crack too, on both
sides of the air filter. I thought it was me, don't
know why, I take pretty good care of them and
baby them a lil, thought maybe cause its my weight
(350 lbs) coming down on the foot rests (bumps
etc.) when riding? Am I sincing a recall issue?

My o2 700 did the same thing but only after i took a header off a 20' sand dune at pismo. After it fliped over on top of me it tore the back rack off, cracked the seat and the plastic fender under the seat.
I fixed the cracked plastic with sheet metal strips and rivets, it worked great. I also fixed the rack with bondo and repainted it black. The cracked seat I laced up by drilling holes along both sides of the crack and laced it with weed wacker string, it looked like *ell but it worked.

Sorry I do not have any pics. That fix was on my 700 that I sold last spring to make room for my 800. The guy that bought the 700 saw the repair job and did not bat an eye. Are you intrested in the lacing or sheet metal and rivites?
