Default Popping sound from front sprocket

Hey guys, I just noticed a slight popping sound coming from what seems like the front spocket while slowly rolling the quad forwards and backwards. Do I have a bearing going out? Thanks for the input!

How long has it been since the chain has been lubed? Be my guess that is the problem.

I lube the chain after every ride (almost), but I also noticed that the chain will very slightly jump while very, very slowly rolling the quad back and forth.

One of two things could be wrong.

1) chain is worn out
2) sprockets are worn

How old is your chain?? When was the last time you adjusted it??

If its an old chain. The chain has probably stretched from use. Giving u slack. Can u rotate your carrier back anymore to take the slack out?? If u cant, replace the chain. If its older than a season or two, replace the chain. While its off go ahead and save yourself the hassle and replace the sprockets while there off.

I can tighten the chain with no problem. I replaced the carrier and bearings 4-5 months ago. I'm scared I had the chain too tight though and messed up something in the tranny. I'll take a closer look at the sprockets to see what they look like.
