Default Spark Plug Question Please....

Went to the NGK website and looked up both plugs. The DP8EA-9 is a projected tip plug where the other is not. The ceramic insulator and the electrode stick out farther.

Go to the following links and compare the tips:

http://www.ngk.com/more_info.asp?AAIA=&pid=3297

As to which one you need, I don't know. Not sure if there is a difference in the tip projection into the cylinder. There could be a clearance problem between the tip of the plug and the piston.

The protrusion is for lower rpm motors. Having the electrode further in the combustion chamber helps keep it clean.
