Default C V Joint should I replace it

I have a 2006 500 efi I have encountered a grinding problem in the front end
I heard of the diff problem with the plastic so I took it apart and the plastic cage was
as good as new and the rollers were good also, So I figured since everything is good I looked at the cv joints.
the inside cvs were nice and smooth to operate and so is the left outer, but I noticed the right outer was tighter and had lots of hard spots. I cleaned the joint and it was more noticable. It had llots of grease and all the boots were excellent.
THe grinding gets noticable at slow speeds once and a will

Could a bad cv made the grinding and ticking. everything is apart and would like some input as soon as possible thanks alot.

most all the cv's i've replaced have clicked. very noticable on corners when its the front outsides. if its grinding then it would be extremly bad i would think and you would see the damage w/ it apart. you sure its not the wheel bearing grinding.

thanks for the reply so fast.
Well when i cleaned the joint there was nothing broken inside just hard spots.
I guess i should check the wheel bearings also, but before i took the wheels off there was very little if any play in the bearings so I dont know what it could be.
Is there any way to take the bearing apart to see the *****.

Also before I took the tires off I rotated them and all I heard was loud ticking.

I bought a plastic cage for no reason that I have to take back cost me 300 dollars canadian so I dont want to buy something I dont have to.

if its ticking it the cv joint. if you look closely at the ball bearing, you'll see where the crome plating is worn off them. this is kinda of what causing the clicking sound. i just replaced my rear wheel bearing and it wasnt marking any noise yet, and had hardly anty play. did water get into the cv joint? this is mostly what causes them to go.

I guess thats pretty much all I could check
The funny thing is the cv boot is all good the only thing is that I had bought it used with 600 miles and only put 100 more on and the previous owner could of only replaced a bad boot and didnt look at the cv.
I ll check the bearings to mack sure thanks

I sure appreciate the information
Im just in the procedure of putting the differential together
I also checked the bearing and they were as smooth as a whistle
Im going to take the cv to my dealer and see what they think of it.

I had taken the cv joint to my dealer and they had said that the joint is good and not to waste your money buying a new one. so I put the cv together and the differential together everything in the diff was as good as new. took it for a drive and it started making the noise again.
But this time I had found exactly where it was coming from.
THe grinding noise was coming from the right front brake disc, the brakes are a bit tight and is grinding against the pads its like its binding or something
is there any thing I could do to ajust the brakes.
When i spin the wheel the wheel barely turns what is the proper brake ajustment.
