Raptor HMF
#1
I just got the HMF slip-on for my 04 rappy. Anyone have this on thier bike? if so what jet did u use? Anyone got a sound bite. I cant wait to get this thing on. I heard raptors sound great with pipes on them. Im kinda new to the whole raptor community, ive only have mine for one season. How bad is changing the jets on these? I had a polaris scrambler before and i had to rejet it and it was a bitch. I had to take all the plastics off, remove the gastank and then pretty much take the whole quad apart to get to the carb. Thanks

You have to take the front plastic off, the gas tank off, take the carbs off and flip 'em over, pull the bowls off. Probably 150 main in the left carb, 155 in the right. Check HMFs website to see if they have a tuning guide. Make sure your floats are level before putting it back together. Be very careful to get the cabs re-seated in the boots when installing the carbs again. They are known for falling off.
After a while, you will be able to do a jet change in less than 20 minutes. Most Raptor owners master this art quickly.
Good luck!

I just got my pipe and i installed it now ive taken the plastic of and the gas tank is gone. Im looking at the carbs and see that 4 screws that hold the bowl on on the bottom of the carbs. To flip the carbs do i just loosen the metric hex bolts holding the rubber intakes onto the carbs or is the more that i have to take of the carbs? Also because there are two carbs are the two fuel/air mixture crews or just one? Pretty much what im asking is i have the plastics off and the tank and im looking at the carbs and im kind of intimidated so what comes next. Someone can pm if they want too. I jsut dont want to mess anything up. I see some hoses connected to the carbs, one going to the back of the machine and one going towards the front looks like it goes up to something on the handle bars, probably the throttle.
