300ex or warrior?

I like the Warrior better. The 300's are OK, but the Warrior has more power, they have been around longer, they have more room, and you can get more power out of the Warrior with hop-up parts than you can with the 300.

What are you riding now, and what are you expecting out of a new quad?
Both are good entry level machines. The warrior is a little heavier, but also a little faster than the 300. The 300 is better suited for smaller, younger, and lighter riders, and the warrior is a better fit for the average sized adult.

warriors havent really been around much longer. weve had both from inception, even from when the 300ex started out as a 250X - which i liked much better and when the 'first generation' of warriors came out (before yamaha moved the engine back in the frame and moved the lights up)
after being on them id rather have the 300 out of the 2 you mention, the 250X if i could find a good one. the 250x/300ex just handle so much better. as far as top speed yeah the warrior will edge it out but not by much. ive seen some fast 300s and when all is said and done - maybe you cant get a 300 to go as fast as a warrior> BUT how much will you have to spend to get a superfast warrior? by that time and $$$ investment you could have bought a used 400ex, z400 or something else that will outhandle and out perform the warrior. there is only so much you can do the old design of the warrior.

I had a 99 Warrior and loved it. I've since gone to a larger 4x4 quad but miss the warrior. They are very dependable, and time-proven. I never had a problem I couldn't fix. Plus the center of gravity seemed pretty low so you have great stability when you're trying to slide around turns or when going over bumpy terrain. I'd consider owning one again.
