Default Which to buy: 300ex or warrior

I was looking at buying a different 4-wheeler and I was wondering on what to get? My previous quad was a Honda Recon but I'm looking at moving up due to the fact I ride it way too hard. I'm 16 yo., 5'11 150lbs. and didn't know which would best fit me: 300ex or warrior?

I like the 300ex better, but Im a Honda guy. the yamaha is a reliable quad. You may want to look for a used 400ex. there are alot more of them around. so they are cheap. $2500 will buy you a nice one.

I have owned both! The Warrior was absolutely the worst quad I ever owned. I would take a Recon over it any day. The Warrior isn't all that heavy, but it handles heavy and sluggish. It also has an antiquated 2 valve engine. If you are big enough to handle a Warrior, you would be way way better off on a 400EX.

The 300EX is a sweet little machine. It (along with its big brother the 400EX), is the best tight trail quad of all time! It has descent suspension, and being medium size it does exceptionally well on very tight trails. It has an old design air cooled engine just like the Warrior, but at least it has 4 valves. The engine has a fair bit of hop up potential.

You will probably grow some more, and the 400EX is a machine you can grow into......

I agree with going with the 400ex, i was just in this search for a new fourwheeler a few months ago, and chose a 400ex after riding both, the 300ex and the warrior. it is an all around better machine for the same price range. but, unless you are looking at new ones, or 05 up, the 400's dont have reverse, but it isnt that big of a deal, and you should be able to pull it around, and lift the rear end fairly easy. Trust me its not that big of a deal.

my opinion in order from best to worst
1. 400ex
2. 300ex
3. Walking down the trails
4. Warrior

I am a honda guy but I rode a 300ex for 3+ years and absolutly loved it , I learned a lot from it and could go any where. Water mud hills whatever the 300ex is a brave little machine and will tear up the trails. I put some money in to it adding an exhaust, UNI filter, Jet Kit, 400ex Front Suspension Upgrade ( A must).... But Mainly minor mods and never had an issue maybe spend 700 bucks total and had a cool machine, The 400ex upgrade consists of 400ex a arms and shocks and a widening kit from e bay. I would take warriors in a race all day , for a 350 they are sluggish.

I agree with everyone else and regret not doing this my self wheni bought my 300 , GO WITH THE 400ex, in a year or so you will want to upgrade anyways.

I've owned both , the Warrior is tough as nails, loves abuse, but I would choose the EX any day, I would even take a 250X.

Whatever you do don't get a Warrior. Get the 300EX but if you want something faster get a 400.
