if you wanna do it the southern way
use duct tape!! wrap it around the handlebars till it is thick enough to hold your grip. it will help keep it from sliding as well. the only drawback is when you get new grips you have to cut the old ones off.

Don't joke with that! It's ridiculous. They don't fit, change them! They don't cost much.
Wrap duct tape around, so next time you hit a big hard curve the grip will not grip and you'll find yourself hanging to you r grip...that's not on the handlebar anymore...Come on...get a twist or get new grips!
