Default Stuck in high gear

I have 4, 50cc quads, one of them won't shift down causing it to have no torque to take off. With a 4 yr old on riding it we have to let him have to much throttle to take off and then once he is off it is going way to fast.

I notice on the side of the transmission there seem to be what looks like an adjustment screw with a lock nut.

Can anybody confirm this and maybe an adjustment procedure?

its a Gio. I'm sure on the CVT style trany.

I looked a little closoer at what I thought was an adjustment nut. I loosened it off but and turned it in but it does not do anything.

The quad just has no take off torque.

If it is the one I am thinking about, it doesn't have a CVT....just a Honda style 50 locked in gear.

If this is the case, it is easy to pull off the side cover and change the gear manually.
