Default What octane fuel?

Hey ya'll, I just got two new Honda's, a Rancher 420ES 4x4 and a Recon 250ES. I haven't gotten a chance to ride them yet, but I was wondering, what octane does most of you use? Would I get better performance from 89 or 93, or would the 87 stuff work fine? Hopefully this weekend, I will get to break them in! Gotta go get a trailer that will hold both. I found a 5x13 "Quadrunner" with a dovetail and 3' ramp that should hold both end to end.

Can't wait!!

Cool Beans on the new rides. If you run what the manual recommends you'll be fine.

They should run fine on the 87. Heck, the way prices are going, they may have too.

I think the manual will say 86, so 87 is slight overkill. You can actually lose power by going with to high an octane!

Do you know about breaking in hard and early oil changes, etc.????? There are some posts on this that I can find if you need to reference them.......

See this post for break in and what to do with a new machine: http://forums.atvconnection.com/mess...did/518651.cfm

Also, your machines have shaft drive, so you will want to change out the diff and rear gear cases early on as well, again to get any shavings out.

A little bit of simple maintenance can go a long way toward increasing the lifetime of your machine!
