82 ATC 200 (Smoking Kills)
#1
Hi, I have a 82 honda atc 200 after a few hours of riding it starts smoking bad, day turns to night birds fall from the sky fellow riders are passing out from carbon monoxide poisoning. I figured the ring are gone so I put it on the truck and took it home . 2 hours later I started it up , NO SMOKE ! Road it for a while , No Smoke, so I let it set and idle more 30 min and get good and hot and it started smoking. I called the local shop they told me I have oil in the exhaust pipe. I just dont bleave that much smoke can come from some oil in the muffler. It has a lot of power and runs great. Anybody have any ideas ?
Help save the little birdies ..LoL ok heck with the birds help me save face, their is nothing worse the a 3 wheeler smoking like a 77 amc pacer.

yeah your rings probably need replaced. it could be your oil to. when the engine runs and warms up the oil gets thiner and gets past the rings. have you changed the oil latley? if you have then its probably the rings.
