Default Finding aftermarket parts for the 250 Sport

I'm curious as to if anyone else has checked into what aftermarket parts will fit on the Jetmoto 250 Sport? I have begun to look into this some.

An example is my son kept buring the factory front bumper into the mud tring to cross a small stream, as it hung way too low. We removed it, and I have been curious if any other parts would fit.

I went to the Yahama dealer today and had the measurements for the mounting bosses for the front bumper. I found a Moose Racing V-Front bumper for a Suzuki LT-Z400 will work. The upper mount is almost exact, and the lower mount is about 1/4" narrower than the bumper. An easy fix with a couple of 1/8" or so spacers on each side. I assume ANY bumper for this model Suzuki would work.

I know Moose Racing also sells tierod ends, and ball joints. Another is EPI. I haven't quite figured out how to compare the factory one's without pressing one out, and measuring it. Is there any way Eugene could provide us with dimensions from a factory rod end, or ball joint?

I bought a pair of shock covers from Dennis Kirk, again from Moose Racing. Part #56-0190. They are black. Something my son just HAD to have, looks good I have to agree.

Someone here said that a front sprocket from a Yahama Blaster, or Banshee, or something appeared to fit. Can't remember which.

One other thing, has anyone came up with a source for any Jetmoto stickers that could be put on the tank, or rear fenders that would stay put? Plain diecut block letters would work for me.

00XJ if you want to give me a call on Tuesday I have an account with Moose and can get everything at cost. Put a list together and you can try it all so others and myself will know!

John.

Really...... I'll call you Tuesday am. As of right now the bumper is the only part I'm 99.9% sure will fit, and funds will allow. I'm really interested in their tierod ends, and ball joints too. I tried to e-mail Moose to see if they could give me dimentions on the bumper, and their site kept telling me to enter a message even though I had. That is why I took the measurements to the Yahama dealer to check it out myself.

I should say that it was a Blingstar bumper I looked at, not a Moose, but I assume if a Blingstar will fit, the Moose should too. My son and I like the looks of the Moose bumper better anyway.

I also would like to look into a aftermarket slipon muffler at some point. The way Jetmoto made the baffle, it looks to be VERY restrictive.

BTW, can you tell me if the motor on the 250 is a Honda, or Yamaha clone? And if it is a direct copy, as in they bought the tooling from one of those companies, or if it is simply a Chinese copy.

One other thing, my son being 15 has that "in your face" attitude about his Jetmoto, and it's ability to run with the "other" quads. Does Jetmoto sell any logo jerseys? That and some diecut logo stickers for the bike would really make his day, and alittle advertising out here in flyover country couldn't hurt either.

Don't happn to know which Yamaha do you. Might make cross referencing parts easier.

I have always sort of figured it was the motor out of the BW 200 but have never looked at pics to figure it out. If its not from the 200B it also might be the engine out of a early 80's 3 wheeler. If this is the case it probubly was a 175.

This isn't actually about aftermarket parts, but replacement parts.

The caged needle bearings in the swingarm pivot went bad. I was noticing a popping/creaking sound when you got on the bike. I noticed up and down movement on the right side of the swingarm where it pivots against the frame. I removed the swingarm and the bearings fell out on the floor. The cages for the needle bearings were totally gone, and some of the bearings were broken, or ground up. This is another place that needs a grease zerk, so that is what I did. I installed a zerk in the center if the swingarm pivot, and it will allow me to pump grease to the 2 bearings.

I located a replacement bearing at Motion Industries here in Indy. We buy quite alot from them at work. The bearings are from a company called INA. The part number is, 1K20X26X17A. They ran $7.52 apiece. I sould have them in a couple of days, and will install them. I'll let everyone know if they work fine, or if there are any problems.

BTW, has anyone else had problems with the rear brake pads wearing out? The quad has maybe 25-30 hours on it and we have gone thru the second set already. They are worn down to the backing plate. Something else I might try to "cross reference" at the local Yamaha dealer.

My brakes are squeaking at about 12 hours, but it needs to be cleaned. Not sure if it's just dirty or bad. Check my K&N thread for plug questions.

Well the bearings came in. They were the wrong ones, they had no outer race so they ordered me the right set. I will post up the new part number when I get them. Sorry, didn't intend to mislead anyone.

Just looked at my brake pads on all mine and they are still fine, The 150's are a bit thinner on the inside pad but they are still good. My boys have taken off a few times with the brake locks on so that is why they are a little worn. It would be nice to find local replacements for these. How much are they from Raceway?
