Polaris, Sink or Swim?!?!?!?!

Two weekends ago I was playing in the mud, and up to my berries in water, on my 95 Scrambler 400. After a few passes it began to sputter slightly in the higher revs, and eventually I was stranded in the middle of a water passage. After draining the carb on the trail, and checking the plug for spark, it would eventually run well enough to move under its own power, barely. If I played with the throttle long enough I could get it to run in the upper revs. It acts as though it has ring or other top end problems, but it has great compression, both hot and cold. After a $22 car wash on tuesday It sat all week on the trailer. This Sunday I took it out riding after draining the carbs, and checking the rest of the fluids and greasing all moving parts with a grease nipple, and it was worse. I could barely get it to move under its own power, and then it would open up if I played with the throttle. As well the front hubs were not engaging. The nuetral light stayed on in high, and neutral and the reverse light came on in rev. Can the safety switch be causing the problem? I believe it is electrical and was wondering if anyone else has had similar problems. Also I was wondering how one goes about overriding the "overide"button as it is impossible to hold it, the winch in button, and the throttle trigger all at once. Would be keen on making the winch in button act as the overide button when I'm winching someone.

I work in the snack food industry in equipment maintiance. EVERYTHING has to washed down daily. We run into more crazy, hard to track down electrical gremlins from water getting into electrical panels, switches, etc...
Sounds to me like you've got water in the wiring harness somewhere, and giving you all kinds of problems.
I've got a Jetmoto 250, and it would barely run one day. Ended up being water in the stop switch on the handlbar. I blew the switch out, and it ran fine afterwords.

Eli98,
I hadn't experienced your problems
at least not yet, but I was up to my
berries this weekend too, scared that
what you posted would be my case.
Man, I need to learn how to snorkel
this thing.
Anyways as far as the switch/Reverse override
thing, Quadovator sells them you may want to
check out their web site. I just bought one but
hadn't installed it yet. This weekend I put the
3-Way Headlight mod on, product from the same
people and put on in a similiar fashion, check out
my Pics in my gallery to just give an idea on how
the Reverse override will need to be installed.
Cheers,
R'

just make sure you do the right wire combo and switch so you still can use your button to scroll thru the menus on the new sportsmans for the override. you will not have to worry about that on the scram.

One think to take note on here...........When water crossing.......I keep a steady throttle.........don't play around ..........Straight ahead.......And keep the wake(water) in front of you........Never had any trouble!!!!!.....(engine barely gets wet)..........I can cross water up to my headlights for 400-500 feet no trouble.........AND WHEN THE EXHUST CHANGES SOUND!!!!!!!..........KEEP GOING!!!!.....LOL...LOL......Caper.........
I think riders get in trouble is when they start goofin" around in puddles TOO large and DEEP for the quad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!If they just keep stright threw.......You will make it!!........Well anybody disagree............................Caper......... ....
