hey guys i will be getting my 07 400ex in a few weeks and i wanted to know how much oil should i put in the gas for break in ? in other words whats the oil to gas ratio ..thanx

 

Oil in the gas on a 4 stroke? even for break in , that is not needed. The only thing putting oil in the gas will accomplish is fouling the plug. To break in a 4 stroke, just warm it up, ride it easy with some good acceleration cycles to seat the rings. Let it cool down, and repeat to get the parts worn in properly, and change the oil to keep the metal particles out of suspension. It won't take long to get it broke in and running like a champ for years to come, with proper care.

 

i was wanting to know cause where i am from theres not alot of quad riders we are snowmachierider and on every new machine we premix gas. so i am so used to premixing, and i know when it comes in every1 will ask if i premixed it. well thanx for the info 95wolv

 

Ya, I agree with 95wolv. I don't know why anyone would mix oil in the gas on a 4 stroke. As he said all it will do is foul the plug and make your brand new quad smoke. So when every1 asks you if you premixed it ask them why you would do that on a four stroke and come back and tell us. I know I'm curious.
