Default Parts Interchangability 04 Sportsman 500 with 05, 06 and 07 Models

Can you list for me what parts interchange between a 2004 and the newer Sportsman models? I just bought a used 04 and if things break/wear out I would like to know what newer parts will fit the '04 model if I wanted to upgrade the parts.

Thanks,

Joe

go here and you can cross reference part numbers to different years. if the part number is the same on different year atv's then it'll be a match.

I think you missed my point. What I want to know is which parts that have a different part number (for appearance, function and/or performance) mount up the same way as the original part and would be considered an upgrade. For example, it is my understanding that the front rack on he 05's have a storage compartment underneath it that is accessible by flipping up the rack. If I crashed my 04 could I replace it with the 05's rack and have it fit my 04?
