my 450r is an 07 and its got a good battery but if you try to electric start it it just keeps turning over and over kindove fast. but you can put it in 1st gear and push start it and it will run like new it just wont idle any idea

 

Welcome to the forums...So what you are saying is the quad will start when you pop start it, but when you try and use the battery it just keeps cranking w/o any start...Do you currently have any mods done to it?...How many hrs do you have on it because it may be due for a valve adjustment?...To me it sounds like your battery doesn't have enough juice to crank it over enough to start the quad and make sure the choke is on when warming it up...I would recommend getting a battery tender which you can put on after every ride and both of my batteries that I have hooked up are always fine...They are well worth the money and I would either get you one of them to keep a charge or use a battery charger, but don't use one that puts out alot of amps and if you do make sure it isn't on the baettery for long...You can also check the voltage of the battery by testing it with a multimeter and put it on DC current...Let me know if this is any help to you.

 

try checking you pilot jet or maybe your fuel adjustment screw. most bikes arn't adjusted properly from the the factory depending on altitude
