Here's a link to my website with pics of the new models:

There's a lot of speculation going on about the Thundercat, the website specifically said Thundercat 950, but some dealers are calling it a Thundercat 1000. Needless to say its 950 cc's. Enjoy.

188 ft-lbs of torque from a 950cc twin?? Seems a bit of a stretch. I don't think the 2litre S-2000 puts down that much torque. Don't see it ... not without a jumbo turbo / blower .. 88 ft lbs I could see easily enough.

If you use the trusty old standby calculater for HP = tq x rpm / 5252, and presuming since it's a larger engine that it builds its max. tq. at even 5000 rpm you're looking at a motor pushing at least 180HP .. it's just not realistic. I expect it's a typo and 88ft lbs is more than likely the real number which is still phenominal for an ATV.

seems like quite a stretch indeed. if it's on their web site it might be from poor editing, or quality control (on their web site only I'm sure). Harley's twin cam 1600cc bike has 'only' 92 ft.lbs. Honda's 1832cc Gold Wing only has 123 ft.lbs. of torque. If it does have that kind of torque (more than double any ATV out there now) how do you think are the axles, diffs, belt, etc on the mini-jeep liberty going to hold up?

just because it is written down does not mean its true. maybe it's an allegory for how torquey it feels??

WHile it is 188lbs torque, it is misleading. That number is from the output shaft.

It's got to be a typo. My 3.3l V6 Sienna only puts down 221lbs-ft ...

Typo for sure!! you telling me that lousy 950cc engine puts out half the torque of my 5.4 F150? DOUBT IT!!

output shaft or not.. still BS..

At the output shaft it isn't that hard to believe actually. Your F-150 number isn't taken at the output shaft, if it was it would be like 800 or so.
