Default Valve Adj. Have questions for Meerkat

Hey everybody,

I searched the topic on valve adjustments and came across many simple explanations on the topic. But, when i decided to do it myself, i ran across an issue. Here are my questions.

When i am on TDC, how much play should i have on the valves(or rocker i guess)? It seems as if i can't move them at all. Even when i go a whole other rotation and get back to the markings, there seems to be no play. Is this how it is going to feel? I was expecting some obvious movement but maybe that is not so.

I have read everyone usings .004 for both vavles, is this the right number for this ATV?

My biggest concern is not knowing when i am truly on TDC i guess. If i hit that point, than i guess i can just adjust from there no matter if i feel some play or not. Thanks in advance everyon.

My e-mail is fishandsurf@gmail.com if anyone has some instruction or pics that could help me.

My son has a Meerkat 50 and I adjusted the valves to .004" for both intake and exhaust. Finding TDC can be a bit tricky. I usually pull the spark plug and stick a straw in the hole to make sure that I'm at TDC. The rocker arms should have some free play from left to right, but none up or down.
