Kazuma 50 will not electric start?
#1
Can someone please help me? I have a Kazuma 50CC atv that is a few years old and I can no longer get it to electric start. It will crank fine and has spark but will not turn over. I have already replaced the starter and battery but this was no help. I can push start it in 4th gear and it will start every time! It runs a little rough at first but after it is hot it will then electric start until it cools down a little? I am really confused and don't just wanna keep throwing parts at it as is costly. Anyone have any ideas for me?

i'm a little confused, it's cranks but doesn't turn over. are you saying the starter motor cranks but the engine doesn't turn over or the engine turns over but doesn't start? if the engine cranks over but doesn't start and you have spark and fuel then you need to do a valve adjustment, they're to tight. set both valves at .003-.004

i'm confused also, like bill.....does it just turn over, but won't fire? Do a search on this forum for "carb woes".....I had the same issue. Turned out to be valves, just like bill suggests. In the post for "Kazuma 50 Carb Woes", there are detailed instructions on adjusting the valves. I've performed this adjustment on at least five Kazuma 50's, as it's something that's very common to them. When completed, you will not believe how easily they will start.
Good Luck,

I'm a little confused too, but if it cranks over and will not start and you have fuel and spark, most likely the valves need to be adjusted. I had the same problem with my son's Kazuma 50. Spark and fuel were good, but wouldn't start unless I pop started it and then after it warmed up, I could turn it off and start it back up with the electric starter no problem. I adjusted the valves to .004" for both intake and exhaust and have never had another starting problem. It actually starts and runs alot better than it did from the factory. Good luck!
