Adapting the Kymco 50 light harness to the AC DVX 50
#1
I am wondering if anyone has any ideas for adapting a (7-wire) light harness on the handlebar switch of a Kymco Mongoose 50 to use on a 2006 Arctic Cat DVX 50, which is also made by Kymco.
The AC DVX 50 does NOT have a headlight, but it does have a plastic insert on the front cowling that you can unscrew, and then the Kymco front headlight fits perfectly. But, you also need the Kymco handlebar switch, which has 7 wires (compared to only 3 for the AC switch, since the AC switch only controls the starter and emergency shutoff switch, whereas the Kymco switch also has the control for the headlight).
The question is, where do I connect the extra 4 wires? My guess is that one must go to the starter or stator, since on the Kymco bike the light does not come on until the bike starts. (You cannot just turn the key and then switch on the light - the light will only go on when the engine is running.)
I do hope someone has some ideas - the Kymco light is a very good one, and it fits so perfectly into the front cowling of the Ac DVX 50. But of course I need the right wiring or I can't do it.
I'd much appreciate any help or even suggestions, thanks.
