110cc CAM CHAIN TENSIONER PUSH ROD
#1
I recently purchased a 110cc ATV which uses a honda clone engine.
When i was changing the oil, I unscrewed what I thought was the Oil Drain plug and out came a spring and a metal rod with some holes in it. A little bit of appeared to be oil also came out.
After doing the oil change (usiung the proper drain plug) and putting this rod back in, I am wondering if I need to replace the little bit of oil that came out, and what type of fluid to use. (there is a little filler cap located on the top of the enigine above the rod). Also, is there any adjusting that needs to be done to the Cam Chain tension now.
I did find out that the rod is a CAM CHAIN TENSIONER PUSH ROD.
Thank you!

unfortunately this kind of stinks! but you need to find tdc (top dead center) . when you find it lossen the tentioner lock nut and back out the adjuster bolt the rod will self adjust, via the spring.tighten the adjuster bolt to hold the rod then tighten the locknut. i hope this helps

QSportGoat,
Thats kind of odd.. Not saying you are wrong, but I did start the ATV to drive it back to my garage and it seemed to be running fine, with no performance loss.
Maybe I was lucky??
Wouldnt it not run, or run poorly if the Cams needed to be adjusted? Or are you simply saying that the tension is probably out of whack and to prevent any damage to adjust it?
