Hey fellow quaders since I dont see many mxers in here I figuered you all didnt hear about Hondas new 450 fourstoke race bike available for 2001 it's on the cover of motorcross magazine it was aimed directly at beating yamahas 426 motor so maybe there will yet be another new king if this thing homesteads a 400ex frame I think raptors and ds owners are going to get roosted.The 650 ds and 660 raptor motors anint got squat on the 426 motor 48.8hp stock so if honda beat that with there new motor like they claim its going to be wicked. later on

 

the CR500F motor will prolly be very good, but they will have to tune it down to put it in a quad, liligations are higher on quads that Dirtbikes, so they let it rip in the dirtbike motors. I hope Honda will put the CR500F motor so i can get another honda

 

I heard honda was testing something. I also heard they are going to come out with a 250cc 4-stroke dirtbike to combat yamaha's yz250f that is demolishing the 125cc motocross division. I would like to see honda come out wit a 450 version of the sportrax, and a 250 fourstroke version of the 250r.

 

yeah i heard about the bike. it would be cool if they discontinued the 400EX and started making it the 450EX.

 

what i plan to see Honda do in the future is to 1) to put reverse in the 400ex 2) build something to compete and out handle the raptor (I don't think that it will be faster then the raptor but it should out handle it in every aspect and compete if not beat in everythinng except a drag race). 4) Honda will not make a 750ex if they do decide to go with a big bore 4 stroke they will most likely go no higher than 600 or quite possiably a 650 but i wouldn't bet my money on that 5) what i would bet my money on would be a motocross quad in a couple of years i expect this from the following manufactures (Honda- a 450 motocross intended quad built soley to compete with fx400 and ??) (Yamaha- I know for fact they that have to be messin with this motor. that being the 426 that will be motocrosser framed quad) Suzuki- hey who knows they could build the dzr400 up for a motocross quad Kawasaki- i plan on them to shock us with some new 4 stroke motocrosser too. just what i am thinkin will happen

 

what i think honda should do is take a xr650r motor and drop it in a 250r or 400ex like frame and make it electric start, tune it for trails and make the handling as good as the 400ex so than it wouldn't just be a dune rider like the ds. that thing would be awesome.

 

What Moto cross races are you watching?From what I see on tv and at the track the 4 strokes do not ever have a chance and all the top rider are sure not winning on a 4 stroke crosser.

Don't see that happening as a complete redesign of the engine cases would have to take place. If they are going to go to that much trouble, look for them to build a different machine, entirely.

They already build this machine, it's called the 400EX. Still beating Raptors in XC and MX races all over the country.

 

Somebody post these 2 or 3 months ago, and OF COURSE, HONDA WAY TO GO IS 450EX LIGUID COOLED, SPORTRAX, NO A HEAVY WEIGHT 650EX.
