ds650 oil change?

Default ds650 oil change?

hi, I took out the drain plug (screw) from the bottom of the engine block and the oil filter but very little came out. What else should I do to get everything out so that i can put new oil in? any hel is appreciated, thanx.

Default ds650 oil change?

The oil reservior tank is located in the front of the bike on the frame . The black cylinder. It has two drain plugs on it . remove the right one ( if your facing the bike) and get ready for a slight mess as the oil runs down the frame. There should be a screen atatched to the plug and you need to clean this also.

Default ds650 oil change?

Remove the left one on that tank first. A funnel under it to your drain pan is advisable. Once you've drained the crankcase and the left plug on the tank very little will come out of the right side mentioned. Clean that screen with carb cleaner, and the magnet on the case plug before reinstalling.
Lots of folks have put petcocks on that left plug so as to be able to contol the flow. do a search and you will find tons of info on this very topic.
