Outlander 04/400 oil strainer screen
#1
Was going through my owners manual in the maintenance section and it says to clean oil strainer screen every 200 hours or 2000 miles. It says to bring machine to a dealer. While looking for it on their on line schematics I found its location. It sits at the rear bottom of engine, right above the spar frame. The only way to remove the 5 hex screws it to remove the air box, remove rear engine mount bolts, and lift rear of engine up to access screws. Does anyone know if cleaning of this screen is necessary if oil has been changed every 300 to 500 miles. And what else may have to be removed to access strainer if procedure is necessary.
