charging issue with a 1996 Scrambler 250
#1
I have a 96 polaris scrambler 250. My lights stoped working one day and I never fixed it. and recently just got around to looking at the problem. So I take the battery out thinking it was the battery. But the batery was low on acid. So i filled it up and the batter accepts a charge nicely. But the battery doesnt recieve voltage from the magento at all. The voltage goes down on the battery. And i figured with my friends bike his lights work once he starts his lights work fine. i figure if Im putting out enough voltage to run the bike fine. it should let the lights work. but no lights work at all on the bike at all when its runing. i checked the circuit board and everything seems ok. but when i put power on the battery an charge it the lights work till the battery dies. Im not that good with magento systems. but im pretty good with electrical stuff. I just need something like a wiring diagram or what to test to find out whats bad on the bike.
Thanks

first thing to check is the recifer that controls the voltage to the battery. usually located in the front of the wheeler by the coil.

the only thing you can really check is to see if its plugged in and not all corroded. you would a service manual to see if there is a ohms/or reistances.
