Default Faulty gas tank sensors.

Does anyone have any information about Polaris having problems with their gas tank sensors? I have had to have three new gas tanks put on my 700 sportsman. It's an 05. The dealer said something about them being on back order and it was supposed to be addressed . Any info anyone has would be great.

I know that on my 07 the fuel gauge never reads full. When you fill it, it only reads 1 bar above half. I'm out of the stupid 6 month warrenty but my dealer is trying to get me a new tank under "extended" coverage. So hopefully my 8 month old bike will be back to "new" sooner or later

I had a issue with my 2006 SP 450 when I first got it home from the dealer about 2 1/2 hours away. The L.C.D. bar graph did not light up !!!. Phoned the dealer and he told me that when I bring it in for the first service it will be fixed.
I don't really remember what he did but it did not take very long. He thought over the phone it was the sending unit, but turned out to be some other little thing, fixed no charge to me.
..........Caper...........

The sensor on my 2006 500 Sportsman EFI has never worked right from day one. It always shows as full, regardless of how much gas is in the tank. I took it in under warranty and they supposedly "fixed" it, but it's still having the same problems. Now I'm outside the warranty, so I'm not sure if I can get it covered or not.

2007 Sportsman 500 Deluxe EFI. Always reads full. To busy to get it into the dealer but probably would be a waste of time.

Mine doesn't work either. I hope to get around to taking it in before my warranty expires. Otherwise, it's perfect.

Mine reads full too long. When it finally drops, drops almost to half. Haven't done anything about it. Such a gas hog, I make sure I fill up whenever possible.

Sounds like most of them do not work. It's not a real issue, but when you spend the kind of money you do on one of these machines you expect that everything works the way it is supposed to. I will keep taking mine back as many times as it takes. I have an extended warranty, I am going to make sure I get every penny's worth out of it.
