DS 650 Baja X Dash Mounting
#1
I recently purchased an '04 DS Baja X and am replacing the factory dash with a new OEM piece. The two rubber strips that hold the lower portion of the dash to the chasis were broken in half. Has anyone replaced these mounts or removed them completely and went with simple bolts? Seems like the rubber strips are not standard equiptment on the non X models. Are they there to provide some sort of shock absorption for the tach?
Any help is appreciated.

I wondered what those were for. They came with the tach kit i bought. I have a 2000 DS650 and cut the hole and installed the tach, but did not use those rubber straps. Now that i think of it I cut 1 in half the other day to mount my new tail light.

Now I see where they were suppose to go. My 2000 DS did not have them from the factory and i did not install them, have not found a problem running without them. I think they are there to save the dash/tach in a roll over. You really have to do something wrong to get my school bus right upside down !!!

you definetly wuld have noticed these - the top of each strap is pop riveted into the dash - from the overall unharmed condition of my DS I am not quite sure how these piece could have broken like they did
