Default what electrical part causes your engine to die unexpectically

am having problems with my 04 yfz 450. the problem is that the starter most of the time is not getting enough juice.... its not the battery becuase even if i boost it ... it still doest get enough juice to start (it will start somtimes for a period of time... then it just dies at any rpm). what could this be? (would this be the starter relay?... cause thats the part that bounces when its not getting any juice)

thanks

If it dies while running it has nothing to do with any of the starting system components. You have multiple problems. If the starter relay 'bounces' I'm assuming that you mean that it's chattering. This is due to low voltage at the relay. Either your battery is dying, or your battery connections are corroded/loose. Remove/clean/replace and tighten them. Also check/clean/tighen the battery cable connections at the relay (+) and at the frame (-).

This would not likely cause it to die while running though. Fix the battery one first, then you can tackle the dying while running. It's really difficult to troubleshoot multiple problems at the same time.

Good Luck!

i have heard of stators going bad and giving the symptoms you have (starts thn dies), check your stator/pickup coil.
