Precision Stabilizer for Renegade Dial In Need Help
#1
Can anyone help me understand how to dial in (pardon the pun) the center and turning ***** on the Precision steering stabilizer for my '07 Renegade? Spent $500+ for it and not smart enough to set it up properly! Ride on all types of terrain, particularly knarly rocky hill climbs and fast rocky trails in Colorado and Chadwick, MO.

It really depends on the Trails. You might find on the fast paced trails you might need only the center screw turned a 1/2 to 3/4 turn. On the rocky trails you might need the outside a 1/2 to 3/4 turn. It also provides dampening just being installed with the screws all the way out. You might need to spray them with something like Zep or WD40 to keep them loose. Also I find the temp outside matters. When very cold the oil inside is thick and when very hot is thin. Their is no real answer other than it varies. But turning the screws makes a big difference. Also remember the more you turn them in the steering gets harder so it is a real balance. Not sure if I answered you question but it saved me from snapping my wrist more than a few times. To me it was defiantly worth the money.

When you say 1/2 to 3/4 turn, you are saying to turn the **** counter clockwise from full clockwise dead stop, right? In other words, once I have turned the screws in all the way, clockwise as far as they go, then back out to obtain your suggested settings? I hope my question makes sense. Also, did you install yours on a Renegade?
