Default Metal Foil Tape

For all that have a 500 efi or Twin efi add some foil tape to the plastic panel's, under the seat and above the exhaust on the plastic. Basically anywhere that heat can melt the plastic. I had an 07 500 efi and currently have an 07 800 Stealth and have had no melting plastic issue's whatsoever. I am sure most have tried this, I thought maybe I would just throw this out there. See Ya

i think the newer ones have thicker heat foil to help w/ the heat issue vs the older ones. the biggest thing is needing more heat shielding i think.

Your right for sure, what I was getting at was a cheap fix to a manufacturer issue, that has helped me.

I had the melting issue on mine and had the dealer fix it. They replaced the rear plastic and side panel. They put more heat tape on it and a bigger heat shield that is about 3 times bigger then the one that came with it.
