TRX 300 - No fire

TRX 300 - No fire
My friends 1996 TRX 300 4x4 will flash the red light (low oil pressure, overheat warning light ??) when the key is turned on and it will not start, no fire to the spark plug. Later when he turns the key on, it starts. What do you think the problem is?
