i have a 2000 rancher 350 es it wont shift out of 5th gear.Tried to manual shift a nd rock but nothing and replaced angle sensor. please help

 

Inside the front engine cover, the shifter arm is broken.

how can you tell if it is broken took cover off but cant tell if its broken do u\you have to remove the clutch to get it off

 

Remove the oil cross over tube, clutch disengauge mechanism and remove the clutch pack center bolt. The clutch will slide ahead enough to allow the shift arm to be lifted away from the shift drum wheel, pivoted to the side and removed. Once removed flip it over and check if the tabs on the shifter arm are broke and spread apart.

i cant get the lock nut off the clutch looks like someone had tried to get off before any ideas thanks
