A friend of mine has a 05 500 6X6 and only one of the front wheels drive. The axle turns but not the wheel. Anyone know what the problem is? Opened the end cap on the hub, and there came out some oil. No ugly sounds when in all wheel drive.

 

top it up with type f tranny fluid (it's cheaper than the polaris hub fluid, and it's the same stuff). if that doesnt work tear it apart and see if the rollers move freely in and out of the roller cage ( make sure you dont over extend the retaining spring or else you'll have to get a new one), if they dont move freely take a file and file them down just enough so they move good and then clean them up good and try it
(make sure you mark which direction the armature plate came off) if you have a repair manual it will give you the step by step instructions on how to do it, i got he info from a CLYMER manual
